Frequently asked questions
Why does a cup of flour weigh less than a cup of sugar?
Cups measure volume, not weight. Flour is light and airy, sugar is dense, so the same cup holds different weights. That's why the ingredient tab uses a separate weight for each one.
Which cup is used?
The US cup (about 237 ml). A metric cup is 250 ml; the volume tab shows both. Spoons are US/metric spoons: 1 tbsp ≈ 15 ml, 1 tsp ≈ 5 ml.
