Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Precise and Instant?

Precise re-encodes so the cut lands exactly where you set it. Instant copies the data without re-encoding — much faster and lossless, but video may start a little earlier, at the nearest keyframe.

How do I write times?

Use minutes:seconds like 1:30, hours like 1:02:03, or plain seconds like 95.5.

Is Trim Video & Audio free?

Yes. Trim Video & Audio is free to use with no sign-up and no watermark.

Are my files uploaded to your server?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device, which also makes it fast and private.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone. Very large files may be slow on older phones.
