Frequently asked questions
Why do some characters have a different pinyin?
Some characters have more than one reading (for example 行 is háng or xíng). The converter chooses the reading from the words around it, so it is usually right, but check unusual words.
What do the tone numbers mean?
1 is high and level, 2 rises, 3 dips, 4 falls, and 0 or no number is neutral.
